Jaden has spent his whole life attempting to break free from being a pawn in his family's criminal dysfunction. When the Phantom Count launches an assault on the capital city, Jaden and Kiera are forced into joining Valentino, the exiled king of Córdova, as he attempts to reclaim the throne from his usurper, the Phantom Count.
They must navigate not only generational trauma, but the Phantom Count who wishes to force the planet to accommodate his people. Jaden and Kiera must choose not to become like those who have abused them. They must navigate a world not built for neurodivergent people, as they discover that the Phantom Count is more similar to them than they realise.
